Rose Flower Dot-to-Dot Puzzle Guide

This 66-dot rose grows one careful line at a time. Begin with the curled petals in the centre, work around the larger outer petals, then follow the stem down to the leaves. The five short stages make the picture manageable for young artists.

1–13The Rose Centre

Connect dots 1 through 13 slowly to form the tightly curled petals in the middle of the flower. Keep each line neat so the spiral-like centre stays easy to see.

Morsomt faktum!
The centre petals of many roses remain curled closely together while the outer petals begin to open.

14–26The Inner Petals

Continue from dot 14 to dot 26, adding the next layer of overlapping petals. Notice how each new curve makes the blossom look fuller.

Morsomt faktum!
Rose petals overlap in layers, helping protect the flower's inner parts while the bud is still closed.

27–40The Outer Bloom

Trace dots 27 through 40 around the broad outer petals. Use smooth strokes around the rounded edges and pause whenever you need to find the next number.

Morsomt faktum!
Different rose varieties can have very different numbers of petals, from simple flowers with five petals to very full blooms with many layers.

41–53The Stem

Follow dots 41 through 53 down from the flower to draw its sturdy stem. These longer lines are good practice for keeping the pencil steady.

Morsomt faktum!
The sharp points on rose stems are technically called prickles rather than thorns because they grow from the stem's outer layer.

54–66The Leaves

Finish with dots 54 through 66 to shape the leaves and complete the rose. Check that every number is connected before adding colour.

Morsomt faktum!
Rose leaves often have toothed edges, which means their margins look like a row of tiny teeth.

Your rose is in full bloom! Colour the petals red, pink, yellow, white, or invent a rainbow rose of your own. Explore our garden dot-to-dot printables for more nature-themed drawing practice.
